Windsor Castle, Stonehenge & Bath Tour

Itinerary :

Day 1 London: Welcome at the airport, transfer to the hotel of your choice. Overnight at the Hotel

Day 2 London (Windsor, Bath & Stonehenge Tour): Breakfast at the hotel. Steeped in history, Windsor Castle perches proudly on a lush wooded hill overlooking the Thames. Dating back to Norman times, with sweeping landscaped gardens and turreted Round Tower, it’s easy to see why it’s the Queen’s favorite’s weekend residence. Enjoy a fascinating through the keyhole peek at the lavish State Apartments, home to priceless artworks by Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci, and visit St. George’s Chapel, the atmospheric final resting place of former monarchs including Henry VIII. You can visit Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House, a truly incredible structure complete with working lifts, running water, electricity and wine bottles, all in miniature! Next visit Mysterious Stonehenge the true meaning of this ancient, awe-inspiring creation has been lost in the mists of time. Was Stonehenge a temple for sun worship, a healing Centre, a burial site or perhaps a huge calendar? How did ancestors manage to carry the mighty stones from so far away and then, using only the most primitive of tools, build this amazing structure? Surrounded by mystery, Stonehenge never fails to impress. Lunch will be consumed on the coach while procced to Bath standing proudly on the slopes of the River Avon, beautiful Bath was the first city in England to be designated an UNESCO World Heritage site. The gorgeous 15th century Bath Abbey, the stunning Georgian architecture, the romantic Pulteney Bridge, modeled on Florence’s Ponte Vecchio, are all sights to linger on in the memory of your day. No tour of Bath would be complete without a visit to the famous Roman Baths that gave the city its name. This beautifully preserved bathing complex still flows with water from Britain’s only hot spring. Marvel at the dazzling torch–lighting ceremony as dusk falls (not applicable in summer) and sip Bath’s healing waters in the Pump Room, a stunning neo classical salon. Estimated arrival time back in London is around 7:45pm. Overnight at the Hotel. (B, L)

Day 3 London (The Spirit of London Tour): Breakfast at the hotel. Enjoy a whistle stop tour of London’s famous monuments and marvel at the history of London’s modern masterpieces from the comfort of your seat. Visit magnificent St Paul’s Cathedral is widely considered to be Sir Christopher Wren’s masterpiece. See the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. Tantalize your taste buds with a Complimentary Lunch Pack. Afterwards visit Tower of London & see the famous Crown Jewels. During its 1000 year history this impressive fortress has been a Royal Palace, prison, mint and even a zoo! Be dazzled by the Cullinan diamonds and the spectacular Kohi–i–Noor at the Crown Jewels. Join a Yeoman Warder (‘Beef eater’) for an exclusive and very different view of the famous Tower of London on this guided tour. You will hear the story of the peasants’ revolt and attack on the Tower of 1381, the military cunning used to ensure the safety of the Monarch within, and how the Tower’s very architecture protects it from attack. Next take to the water on a River Thames boat to Greenwich followed by a walking tour of Greenwich before making your way on the boat to either London Bridge Pier or London Eye Pier. This tour will finish at approximately 6.00pm at London Bridge Pier or London Eye Pier. Overnight at the Hotel. (B, L)

Day 4 London (Oxford and Cambridge Tour): Breakfast at the hotel. Start your tour with follow in the footsteps of Oxford’s famous students, from C.S. Lewis to Bill Clinton, as you stroll the captivating college courtyards and cobbled lanes of this historic university town. Take in the famous ‘dreaming spires’ and see the Bodleian Library – one of the oldest libraries in Europe – on your visit. You’ll be captivated by the unspoilt narrow alleys and ancient squares of this naturally beautiful town. Visit Christ Church which is instantly recognisable as one of the major locations for the Harry Potter films! Marvel at the magical grandeur of the Great Hall, used as the setting for Hogwarts. Save time during your tour with a tasty lunch pack, freshly prepared and conveniently stored so you can enjoy it as you travel. Afterwards, visit the elegant city of Cambridge, well known as the home of the University of Cambridge, which includes the renowned Cavendish Laboratory, King’s College Chapel, and the Cambridge University Library. Marvel at the oldest college that still exists, Peter house, which dates back to 1284. The estimated arrival back to London is around 6:45pm. Overnight at the Hotel. (B, L)

Day 5 London (24Hrs Hop on Hop off Tour + London Eye + Madame Tussauds): Breakfast at the hotel. See the city at your leisure! This 24 hour hop on hop off bus tour gives you the freedom to experience London and do what you want, when you want to. Explore the Best London Sights Including Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, St Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge and Trafalgar Square with free Wi-Fi. Also visit Madame Tussauds who has been making wax figures for over 150 years. The oldest figure on display is ‘Sleeping Beauty’ sculpted in 1763. See Madame Tussauds’ legendary Chamber of Horrors. End your day with a London Eye experience and enjoy breathtaking views of London in the luxury of your glass capsule. Rest of the day at leisure or for shopping. Overnight at the Hotel. (B)
