Itinerary :
Day 1: Christchurch: On arrival in Christchurch, collect your rental vehicle and self drive to hotel & check-in. Enjoy admission to the International Antarctic Centre for an icy insight into this astounding continent. Overnight in Christchurch.
Day 2: Christchurch – Glacier Region: Today depart from Christchurch enroute the spectacular scenery of the Arthurs Pass national Park and on to the West Coast. New Zealand’s rugged West Coast is a wild and untamed place known for its rivers, rainforests, glaciers and geological treasures. Overnight in in Glacier Region.
Day 3: Glacier Region: Enjoy full day at leisure to explore this magnificent glacier region. Optional activities include a visit to Punakaiki Pancake Rocks, a scenic flight or helicopter on to glacier. Overnight in Glacier Region.
Day 4: Glacier Region – Queenstown: Travel through wilderness towns, waterfalls and river scenery on today’s scenic journey to Queenstown. You can take an optional halt at Makarora’s Blue Pools before continuing on to Wanaka and Queenstown. Overnight in Queenstown.
Day 5: Queenstown – Milford – Queenstown: Today’s breathtaking drive passes mirror lakes, magnificent waterfalls, and water-sculpted rocks. On arrival, make your way to the Skyline Base for a Gondola Ride to the top of Bob’s Peak and enjoy some spectacular panoramic views high above Queenstown. Then head down to the waterfront to board the iconic TSS Earnslaw steamship for a scenic cruise across Lake Wakatipu to Walter Peak Farm. Here you will enjoy a gourmet BBQ lunch before your cruise back to Queenstown central. Overnight in Queenstown. (L)
Day 6: Queenstown: A free day to explore the endless optional attractions available. Queenstown offers bungy jumping, jetboating, white water rafting, gondola rides and much more. Overnight in Queenstown.
Day 7: Queensland – Tekapo/Mt Cook Region: Today depart from Queensland to a scenic wonderland with golden tussocks, snow-capped mountains and turquoise lakes. After that, follow the stunning Lake Pukaki shoreline to a rugged land of ice and rock, home to Aoraki Mt Cook, New Zealand’s highest mountain. Overnight in Tekapo or Mt Cook.
Day 8: Tekapo/ Mt Cook – Christchurch: Depart Mt Cook and stop on the shores of Lake Tekapo to visit the ‘Church of the Good Shepherd’. Continue across the fertile Canterbury Plains to arrive in Christchurch. Overnight in Christchurch.
Day 9: Christchurch: Your tour concludes today with a departure transfer to Airport for your flight to next destination.
