Itinerary :
Day 1: Auckland: Welcome to the island nation of New Zealand! You will arrive in Auckland, New Zealand’s largest city, set between two harbours with gentle sandy shores on the east coast and black sand, wild surf beaches on the west coast. Home to sheltered, sparkling blue waters dotted with beautiful emerald islands. Collect your rental vehicle and self drive to hotel & check-in. Overnight in Auckland.
Day 2: Auckland – Rotorua: Today depart from Auckland and drive towards a journey to Rotorua. You can add one or two optional tours on your way to geothermal Rotorua. Overnight in Rotorua.
Day 3: Rotorua: Today drive along spectacular views of Rotorua, where you will where you will come across incredible geothermal landscape with its unique steam vents, spouting geysers and bubbling mud pool set alongside freshwater lakes and majestic native forests. It is also a region immersed in fascinating Maori myths and legends. Visit one of the local geothermal attractions before a sensory evening display in the forest. Overnight in Rotorua
Day 4: Rotorua – Queenstown: Today depart from Rotorua on your domestic flight to Queenstown (flight not included). Magnificent vistas and majestic mountains dominate this compact alpine resort town. After Check in, you can enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight in Queenstown.
Day 5: Queenstown: Today take a gondola ride that will take you high above Queenstown for an expansive view of stunning Lake Wakatipu and the surrounding Remarkables mountains. Then enjoy a scenic cruise on the vintage TSS Earnslasw steamship across the lake to Walter Peak High Country Farm for an insight into farm life in New Zealand. Overnight in Queenstown.
Day 6: Queensland – Tekapo/Mt Cook Region: Today depart from Queensland to a scenic wonderland with golden tussocks, snow-capped mountains and turquoise lakes. After that, follow the stunning Lake Pukaki shoreline to a rugged land of ice and rock, home to Aoraki Mt Cook, New Zealand’s highest mountain. Overnight in Tekapo or Mt Cook.
Day 7: Tekapo/ Mt Cook – Christchurch: Depart Mt Cook and stop on the shores of Lake Tekapo to visit the ‘Church of the Good Shepherd’. Continue driving across the fertile Canterbury Plains to arrive in Christchurch. Overnight in Christchurch.
Day 8: Christchurch: Your tour concludes today with the return of your rental car to Christchurch Airport.

Tours to Mt Cook do not operate daily. Self drive rental vehicle touring is calculated on a 24 hour ‘per day’ hire period. Early flight arrival and/or late departure times may necessitate an additional hire day.
