Itinerary :
Day 1: Christchurch: On arrival in Christchurch, ‘The Garden City’ transfers to your hotel and check-in. Rest of the day is at leisure for you to explore this vibrant city on your own. Overnight in Christchurch.
Day 2: Christchurch – Tekapo – Mt Cook: As you leave Christchurch, your enthusiastic driver guide will provide tales and extensive background information. Travel through the impressive Canterbury plains farmland to the quaint township of Geraldine. Continue through some impressive alpine passes to the famous blue lakes of Lake Tekapo, stopping at the very popular Church of the Good Shepherd, before heading on to a vast landscape of ice and rock that surround Aoraki Mt Cook. Overnight in Mt Cook Region.
Day 3: Mt Cook – Queenstown: Depart Mt Cook Village framed by the dramatic backdrop of Aoraki Mt Cook and the Southern Alps travelling alongside Lake Pukaki, one of the bluest lakes you will ever see. Later, a small group guided transfer includes a stop at a local salmon farm and fresh fruit stall (seasonal) passing through the stunning Kawarau Gorge before arriving in Queenstown. Overnight in Queenstown.
Day 4: Queenstown: A free day to explore the endless optional attractions available. Queenstown offers bungy jumping, jetboating, white water rafting, gondola rides and much more. Overnight in Queenstown.
Day 5: Queenstown – Milford – Queenstown: Today’s breathtaking drive passes mirror lakes, magnificent waterfalls, and water-sculpted rocks. Explore Milford Sound, a New Zealand treasure carved by ice age glaciers and is famously described as the eighth wonder of the world. Return to downtown Queenstown. Overnight stay in Queenstown.
Day 6: Queenstown-Christchurch: This morning Queenstown departure, pass through the stunning Kawarau Gorge, fruit and wine growing region of Cromwell, following beautiful Lake Dunstan and through the dramatic Lindis Pass. Travel the vast plains of the Mackenzie district alongside magnificent turquoise blue lake framed by Aoraki Mt Cook and the spectacular Southern Alps. Make a short stop at Mt Cook Village before returning to Christchurch. Overnight in Christchurch.
Day 7: Christchurch: Your tour concludes today with a departure transfer to Christchurch Airport for your flight to next destination.
