Itinerary :

Day 1: Auckland: On arrival in Auckland, collect your rental vehicle and self drive to hotel & check-in. Overnight in Auckland.

Day 2: Auckland – Waitomo – Hobbiton – Rotorua: Today begin a journey through the rolling green hills of Waitomo and enjoy a tour through an underground wonderland of caves decorated with galaxies of glowworms. Continue to Matamata for a charming tour of unique, character Hobbit homes, gardens and the watering hole just as you see in the movies. Reach Rotorua and check in. Overnight in Rotorua.

Day 3: Rotorua: Today you’ll visit one of the local geothermal attractions of Waimangu Geothermal Valley before a sensory evening display of Treewalk Nightlights in the forest. Redwoods Nightlights™ is one of New Zealand’s top design led tourism experiences. Overnight in Rotorua.

Day 4: Rotorua-Christchurch: Today depart from Rotorua on your domestic flight to Christchurch (flight not included). This is a vibrant, ever-changing city with inner city parks and gardens delightfully interwoven by the meandering Avon River. After Check in, you can enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. Overnight in Christchurch.

Day 5: Christchurch – Glacier Region: Today depart from Christchurch enroute the spectacular scenery of the Arthurs Pass national Park and on to the West Coast. New Zealand’s rugged West Coast is a wild and untamed place known for its rivers, rainforests, glaciers and geological treasures. Overnight in in Glacier Region.

Day 6: Glacier Region: Enjoy full day at leisure to explore this magnificent glacier region. Optional activities include a visit to Punakaiki Pancake Rocks, a scenic flight or helicopter on to glacier. Overnight in Glacier Region.

Day 7: Glacier Region – Queenstown: Travel through wilderness towns, waterfalls and river scenery on today’s scenic journey to Queenstown. You can take an optional halt at Makarora’s Blue Pools before continuing on to Queenstown. Overnight in Queenstown.

Day 8: Queenstown: A free day to explore the endless optional attractions available. Queenstown offers bungy jumping, jetboating, white water rafting, gondola rides and much more. Overnight in Queenstown.

Day 9: Queenstown – Milford – Queenstown: Today’s breathtaking drive passes mirror lakes, magnificent waterfalls, and water-sculpted rocks. Explore Milford Sound, a New Zealand treasure carved by ice age glaciers and is famously described as the eighth wonder of the world. On arrival, board your vessel for a cruise of the fiord surrounded by towering mountains and cliffs that plunge into the sea. Lunch is included. Return to downtown Queenstown. Overnight stay in Queenstown.

Day 10: Queensland – Tekapo/Mt Cook Region: Today depart from Queensland to a scenic wonderland with golden tussocks, snow-capped mountains and turquoise lakes. After that, follow the stunning Lake Pukaki shoreline to a rugged land of ice and rock, home to Aoraki Mt Cook, New Zealand’s highest mountain. Overnight in Tekapo or Mt Cook.

Day 11: Tekapo/ Mt Cook – Christchurch: Depart Mt Cook and stop on the shores of Lake Tekapo to visit the ‘Church of the Good Shepherd’. Continue across the fertile Canterbury Plains to arrive in Christchurch. Overnight in Christchurch.

Day 12: Christchurch: Your tour concludes today with the return of your rental car to Christchurch Airport.
